About the Event

Q1. What kind of event is the Tour de Kyushu?
A.

The “Tour de Kyushu” is a UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) sanctioned cycle road race. Its hosting was decided by the Kyushu Regional Strategy Council, consisting of top economic organizations and prefectural governors in Kyushu. It serves as a symbol of the sustainable legacy of the Rugby World Cup, the promotion of cycle tourism in Kyushu, and the recovery from recent natural disasters that have struck the region.

Q2. What is the event schedule?
A.

The event schedule is as follows:

  • Oct 9 (Fri)
    EXHIBITION Sasebo Criterium (Scheduled to start at 13:00)
  • Oct 10 (Sat)
    STAGE1 Saga-Fukuoka (Scheduled to start at 10:00)
  • Oct 11 (Sun)
    STAGE2 Oita-Kumamoto (Scheduled to start at 10:00)
  • Oct 12 (Mon/Hol)
    STAGE3 Miyazaki Nichinan (Scheduled to start at 09:00)

About Spectating

Q9. Are there spectating spots and parking lots?
A.

Q10. Can I take photos and videos?
A.

Personal photography and videography are allowed, but please shoot from safe locations.
Entering the course and using drones are strictly prohibited.
When posting on social media, please be considerate of other people’s privacy.

If you are at a venue, please ask at the Information desk.

Q13. Is there a first aid station?
A.

First aid stations are set up at the finish venues.
If you feel unwell, please do not push yourself and inform our staff.

Q14. Is there a paid viewing area?
A.

Q15. About event cancellation due to weather or natural disasters
A.

If we determine that the safety of participants, spectators, and event staff cannot be guaranteed due to weather conditions, natural disasters, or other unavoidable circumstances that may hinder the operation of the event, we may cancel all or part of the event or change its content.
If the event is canceled or modified, we will promptly announce it on the event website and other official channels.

About Traffic Regulations

Q16. Will there be traffic regulations?
A.

We are currently creating traffic regulation maps with details for each course.
We will announce them later, so please wait for their release.

Q17. When will road closures be lifted?
A.

Traffic regulations will be lifted sequentially after the racing convoy has passed (and after the final lap in circuit areas) and the police in charge have confirmed safety.

Q18. Will buses operate as usual?
A.

There will be bus suspensions, route and schedule changes, and delays.

Q19. Can bicycles and motorcycles pass through the regulated areas?
A.

Neither bicycles nor motorcycles are allowed to pass through the traffic-regulated areas.

Q20. Can pedestrians cross the course?
A.

Q21. Can general vehicles pass through?
A.

General vehicles cannot pass through during traffic regulations, but this does not apply to emergency vehicles.

Q22. Will there be any impact on deliveries and courier services?
A.

Due to large-scale traffic regulations lasting for long hours on the days of the event, there is a possibility that mail and courier deliveries will be delayed.
