IMPLEMENTATION OUTLINE

IMPLEMENTATION OUTLINE

The Kyushu Regional Strategy Council, consisting of the heads of Kyushu's economic organizations and the governors of the prefectures, decided to hold the "Tour de Kyushu" as a symbolic event to continue the legacy of the Rugby World Cup, to promote cycle tourism in Kyushu, and to symbolize the recovery from the natural disasters that have hit Kyushu in recent years. The event is a UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) sanctioned cycling road race, and preparations are underway with the aim of holding the event in the fall of 2023.

There are high expectations for this event to provide opportunities for athletes to compete on the world stage. It is expected that this event will further the popularization and expansion of cycle sports, contributing to the development of a wide range of human resources involved in road racing. Showcasing Kyushu’s natural beauty will also contribute to regional branding.

To ensure that this event meets these expectations and contributes to the achievement of the region's sustainable development goals, the business community and government of Kyushu will work together and collaborate in the creation of this event.
